Environmental Policy

This Environmental Policy covers all aspects of our operations here at Pure Systems Ltd. The policy commits us to sourcing from suppliers and services that adhere to environmentally sound ways of operating where possible. It is a necessity that it can be accessed by all via our website,  and by staff through our internal online project management system.

This Environmental Policy will be regularly referred to when participating in team meetings and decision-making. It is also to be included during the induction of new staff and will be reviewed annually by the Directors of the company.

Pure Systems Ltd will reduce waste where possible by thinking about what we buy and how we use it. We endeavour to keep a paper free office by using online resources such as email, online calendars and computer based project management systems. We aim to ensure that non-essential documents and emails will not be printed and favour the email and the web as a means of company promotion rather than print and mailshot campaigns.

All our invoicing is sent out via email and we encourage our customers to pay us electronically online rather than by cheque.

All our internal documents are available for our staff to view online via our internal project management system. When printing is a necessity we aim to use 100% recycled paper (where possible) and vegetable inks. We will also aim to ensure that it is double sided. We will annually review our printing of documents and, if they are not essential, they will be cancelled thus reducing waste and saving money.

We re-use wherever possible by trying to find a second life for items such as paper and office stationery. Scrap paper will be used in printers, for taking messages and for writing notes or draft copies of documents. We are committed to the re-use of envelopes and packaging where possible.

All paper, card, glass, tin will be recycled. Food waste will be composted. Toner cartridges and inkjets will also be recycled. If office furniture or IT equipment is being replaced then Pure Systems Ltd will seek to have those items reused or recycled. We will use and/or support social economy organisations to recycle materials as appropriate.

When sourcing refreshments for meetings and training, we will aim to purchase from local suppliers to lessen the amount of food miles.

We promote home working for our staff to encourage the reduction of traffic pollution. We also promote the use of cycling and walking as the main means of travel to local meetings, and use public transport where systems allow efficient use. For journeys that require the use of a car, car sharing will be encouraged. (Where personal mobility or access issues present an excluding difficulty, Pure Systems Ltd will cover costs of taxi, car club or other appropriate transport).

We will seek to minimize the use of energy in our activities. For example lights and equipment will be switched on only when needed and not out of routine. We encourage the use of ‘sleep’ mode for computers during the working day and will ensure that all are switched off overnight, where possible.
