smartFOCUS

smartFOCUS Group plc is a leading international provider of high performance multi- channel marketing software.

smartFOCUS were looking to completely re-design their existing website and had selected DotNetNuke as their chosen CMS platform. One of the main aims of the new site was to enable smartFOCUS clients the ability to access relevant information quickly and easily.

The design of the site was determined by the amount of information to be contained within it. It was important that smartFOCUS staff would be able to add or edit any content without having to worry about the layout and formatting of pages. smartFOCUS had a clear idea of what they wanted the site to look like and already had strong branding and guideline colours which were incorporated into the site.

It was important for the smartFOCUS website to contain module referencing as it was a requirement that some content would need to be duplicated within the site. This allowed smartFOCUS staff to save time when editing and adding, as all duplicate content would only need to be updated once from the 'master' module.

A range of functionality was included within the smartFOCUS site including case studies, latest news, upcoming events and tag clouds. All these modules were styled to fit in with the design of the site and the smartFOCUS branding. Users can also subscribe to the smartFOCUS newsletter and download archived news if required. A search was included to assist users in finding relevant information.

The smartFOCUS site has been developed to allow translation into other languages using the CMS editor. At present it is available in both English and French, other languages will be added at a later date as part of the Phase 2 development.

It was also a requirement that the site had to meet W3C and Web accessibility guidelines where possible.

On completion of the project, the site was handed over to smartFOCUS who now maintain and update both textual and graphical content.
