The British Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society (BOFAS) is a registered charity dedicated to the management of and research into problems affecting the foot and ankle.
BOFAS wanted to convert their existing website into a DotNetNuke CMS which would allow them to make frequent updates and remain in control of all content added.
Bepoke DotNetNuke module development was undertaken to import 300+ members into the system, enabling BOFAS to manage their membership records online via the website. These online records made it easier for BOFAS to keep in contact with their members, enabling them to discuss any topics in the private forums.
A range of functionality was added to the site including news articles, file downloads, a secure member's area, a site search and forums. A booking facility was also incorporated into the CMS, enabling members to book places for the annual meeting online using PayPal.
SEO work was required due to the new site structure so it was important that all old content was redirected to the new content.
The site had to meet W3C and Web accessibility guidelines where possible.
On completion of the project, the site was handed over to BOFAS who now maintain and update both textual and graphical content.
